13.30 - 15.00: How IT can help in the GP crisis
As NHS primary care experiences a time of unprecedented crisis we need to look for novel solutions to ease the many pressures that exist in the system. Some of those solutions can be found in more effective use of information and information systems in health care. We will present four examples of those solutions from four very experienced clinical informaticians all with a background in General Practice and experts in their field. The discussions will cover:

  • Collection and analysis of data in primary care for risk stratification and targeted interventions to drive transformational change
  • Using business intelligence tools to improve workflow across GP federations to realise business process efficiencies
  • How information integration can be achieved across health and social care services to support safer and more efficient care
  • The areas in which primary care IT systems should be developed in order to improve software usability survey and care processes
